An Emphasis on Accessibility

When you become fluent with any language it means you can now write down ideas, express and break down said ideas, write letters to friends or even tell jokes. With programming, it's the same principle.

"Fueling the future" to us means providing the tools to help the youth achieve their career and life goals at large by encouraging growth academically, financially, and socially regardless of socioeconomic situation.

What are Coding Carnivals?

Computer Science is the fastest growing and year-over-year highest earning field in the nation, because of these points, it is imperative to build confidence within the youth that they too can walk into that path. Coding Carnivals serve as inflection points to build new perspectives around computing for students K-12.

                                          Coding Carnival Fundamentals:
Establishing a foundation on object-oriented programming within a kid-friendly educational environment is the central goal we set out for at Briidge The Gap, by utilizing many different hardware components and Fuel The Future's 'Learn' Edtech Platform we've been able to do just that. For hundreds of kids.

Fuel The Future Learn | Division of courses:
Camp Code – Built from the ground up to cater to students ages 12-17 with an inviting, yet challenging curriculum that supports a wide range of educational standpoints rooted in Computer Science.

Colorful Curriculum – Built from the ground up to cater to ages 6-11 with a curriculum designed to build new perspectives around computing and what is possible with a firm grasp on computational concepts. Carefully crafted to build confidence to support a young child’s educational agency journey.

 What's Involved?

Briidge The Gap 'Coding carnivals' aim to inform the youth from ages 6-17 about digital literacy, introductory computer programming and to emphasize the usefulness of a pre-established computer science knowledge at any age. This is made possible through the use of captivating demonstrations of technology such as Drones, Virtual Reality, and NFT Smart Frames to draw intrigue from each student within a station-based structure.

We then reel them into coding creation following stations to showcase to our students’ foundations of computer science to inspire them to one day create their own captivating technology. Made possible through the licensing of Fuel The Future Learn, an EdTech platform.

Our emphasis statement is that ANYONE CAN CODE.
Within both courses of FTF Learn we emphasize on:
- Exposure to multiple software interfaces
- Interactive computer-based problem solving
- Fundamentals of critical thinking, algorithm construction and data science
- A focus on Computer Science; breakdown of concepts such as computer logic & computational thinking
    * Computer programming accounts for about 20% of what computer science entails, as a whole.

"Education is the passport to the future, tomorrow belongs to those who prepare today"
