APOLLO ART ΞXCHANGE The following piece is a poem meant to simplify the process which Apollo Art Exchange utilizes to discover, study, document and archive digital art The world creates, and I discover
The world creates, and I observe The world creates, and I contemplate The world creates, and I connect The world creates, and I collect The world creates, and I begin to write The world creates, and I document The world creates, and I finalize The world creates, and I post The world creates, and I elevate The world creates, and I archive The world creates, and I immortalize The world creates, and I discover

Created by APOLLO / Raising Awareness, Digital Literacy, Financial Literacy 2-minute read - Child Safety - Roblox (Video Game) - Virtual Currency - Digital Items (NFTs) - Investing vs Gambling - Legal Liability Image taken from the frontpage of <www.roblox.com/CATALOG> Roblox has a major problem with child safety. They're promoting gambling and stock market trading of NFTs to their extremely unsuspecting and highly impressionable young audience.. All utilizing the virtual currency "Robux", their marketplace consists of virtual items (Non-Fungible Tokens) which hold a specific monetary value based on rarity, social prestige and in-game features. As someone who aspires to teach the youth about being responsible with money through financial literacy, this type of environment makes me genuinely sick. This type of behavior needs to be regulated! We cannot allow children (or anyone underage for that matter) to access such risky forms of investing which is more in the realm of "gambling" than actual "investing"; Sure, learning about the stock market and virtual currency alongside its incredible nuances is very valuable at such a young age, however... Where is the education? Where are the warnings? Where are the regulations? Where does the liability literally lie? Roblox is essentially evading away any form of legal liability by promoting its community to use third-party applications such as discord or slack for communication. 'If it didn't happen on Roblox it's not our responsibility or our fault' This doesn't even scratch the surface on the immensely immoral environment which Roblox has created for young programmers…. They're being manipulated and exploited with little to no real compensation for their hard work in building, coding and programming these games. If they go against their "project managers" then they risk complete reputation destruction and social ostracization. The same thing that can be said for young programmers is the exact same problem for younger girls trying to speak up on the amount of blatantly inappropriate environments in these third-party discord servers, many of which have adult-aged moderators and staff. We need to protect children in the internet age instead of turning a blind eye to blatant negligence! Am I the only one who cares about this? Where will this behavior lead? We need some real education in this space... We are extremely excited to share the stories and literary pieces produced in-house across Briidge The Gap team members and organization partners and volunteers. Despite these current plans we do see our blog as an eventual home for many of our students within the Lingual Literacy pillar!
For more information please visit The Four Pillars Thank you all that have been on this journey with the organization thus far and we hope that as time goes on you are all just as excited as us for what is to come. We cannot wait to read what will transpire! |
